Job/Internship Description
Overview:

The internship program experience combines Cedar Point's business needs with college level internship requirements. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to grow and learn in the hospitality and amusement park tourism industry through hands-on exposure to day-to-day operational tasks within your assigned Division. You will be responsible for providing excellent guest service and utilizing leadership skills while collaborating on group projects to ensure a successful operation.

Responsibilities:
  • Admissions Internal Audit - Act as an internal auditor for the Admissions operation at Cedar Point, including Fast Lane, Season Pass, and Ticket Sales, labor analysis, product/sales analysis, time-motion studies of guest flow and efficiency, and other control functions. Admission Internal Audit Interns are members of the Admissions Leadership Team and contribute to the development of associates.

  • Admissions and Guest Experience - Training and Development - This internship will focus on the training and development of the Admissions & Guest Experience team. As a Training and Development intern you will work with our leadership team to facilitate our general training course to all associates. Interns will also work with Admissions Compliance Interns to complete training and operational related audits.

  • Admissions and Ride Operations - Compliance - Ensures all related paperwork and forms including certification checklists, pre-opening/closing inspection forms, and daily operational reports are accurate, complete, consistent, logged, and correct. Will also focus on workforce management and labor law compliance for the Admissions, Guest Experience, Traffic, Tolls, and Ride Operations Teams.

  • Aquatics Operations - Compliance - Ensures all related paperwork and forms including certification checklists, pre-opening/closing inspection forms, and daily operational reports are accurate, complete, consistent, logged, and correct. Will also focus on workforce management and labor law compliance for the Aquatics Operations Team.

  • Event Operations Management - The Event Operations team works alongside our Food and Beverage, Marketing, and Creative Services Departments to help in the execution of our Signature and Catered Events, Festivals, and VIP Areas. This internship provides hands-on experience with setup and teardown, meeting cleanliness standards, and operating activities and special experiences. Interns will have the opportunity to gain leadership experience in labor management, time management, team development, and event execution.

  • Guest Experience - This internship provides experience in our communications center, aiding guests in our Call Center and Guest Services Office, leading VIP Tours, including our exclusive Sunrise Thrills tour program, and being a guest advocate at our Courtesy Corps booths. Leadership positions may become available throughout the summer.

  • Park Admissions Operations Management - Manage a team of individuals in the Park Admissions Department, gaining valuable insight into daily operations management of the Cedar Point Entry Experience, multiple locations, including our traffic operation and toll plaza, admissions gates, ticket sales, season pass sales, Fast Lane sales, group sales, and Guest Experience operations. Management Interns are responsible for the daily scheduling, timekeeping, associate management, work culture, and operational performance of their locations.

  • Park Services Operations Management - Our Park Services interns have an opportunity to lead and manage a team of individuals in our Park Services Department and gain experience in time management, motivation and team development, labor management, and control of resources. Interns will receive feedback and mentorship from the Park Services Management Team to develop key leadership skills and to build upon the leadership structure.

  • Park Services and Event Operations - Administration (Payroll, Training, and Compliance) - Immerse yourself in the staff management functions of the Park Services and Event Operations Departments, including hiring, staffing, orientation, training, coaching, counseling, scheduling, payroll, labor law compliance, incentives, recruiting, and other associate management functions.

  • Ride Operations - Audit - Act as an internal auditor for the Ride Operations team. This intern will perform iROC, Fast Lane, ADA, and ride location Cleanliness audits daily for our 70+ rides.

  • Ride Operations - Guest Experience - Ensures the ride operations team is giving the best day experience to our guests. This intern will be responsible for answering guest comments, auditing guest and associate incentives, and completing guest surveys. This intern will also complete/update statistical summaries for each ride and ride wait times.

  • Ride Operations - Training and Development - This internship will focus on the training and development of the Ride Operations team. As a Training and Development intern you will work with our supervision team to facilitate our general rides training course and Ride Operator iROC course to all ride operators. These interns will also complete training related audits and surveys. This internship requires at least one season of prior experience as a ride operator.

  • Warehousing, Inventory, and Supply Chain Management - Our Supply Chain Interns monitor, analyze, and forecast data from our Park Services management software, as well as oversee the inventory and acquisition of supplies for the Cedar Point Park Services Warehouse, including receiving, budgeting, and inventory control. Interns will be evaluated regularly and receive feedback and mentorship from Park Services Management to develop key Supply Chain expertise, including the Cedar Point Procurement Process.
Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be attending an accredited college or university within the United States
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs
  • Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law
  • Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education, and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law
