Job Summary

We are seeking a Structural Engineer for our Bridge Sector. The ideal candidate will be working on projects including conceptual planning, through design, construction, and completion. You will assist or lead the design of assigned task of bridge projects to ensure reliability, resource efficiency, quality deliverables and cost-effectiveness. The position involves the development of bridge analysis, bridge design, culvert design and retaining wall design and layouts.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform structural analysis and prepare design calculations.

  • Develop or assist in developing structural details and construction plans.

  • Prepare geometric / bridge layouts, construction specifications, and material quantity calculations, load rating analyses.

  • Strong technical and communication skills with a commitment to quality.

  • Familiarity with AASHTO and NYSDOT design and standards preferred.

  • Computer skills desired include Bridge Design Software, Computer Aided Drafting (MicroStation preferred).

  • Familiarity with developing bridge analysis models.

  • Successfully interface with staff from other disciplines (highway, traffic, civil etc.) to support a range of bridge projects.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on structures. Masters Degree preferred.

  • 4+ years of bridge design and analysis experience.

  • NY PE license, or the ability to obtain one within one year is preferred.

  • Client focused, always striving to give clients the best solutions.

  • High levels of integrity, always doing the right thing in an ethical, fair, and sustainable way.

  • Sound oral and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated experience of collaboration in a diverse and inclusive team, working together toward technical excellence.


Additional Information

TYLin is committed to pay equity. As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range of$87,800 - $131,600 annually for this position and local market.
